Yvy Ong - My Journey Learning How to 3D Model

Project 1

Module 1

This is the first module in this course where I must learn how to model primitive and complex shapes in Cinema 4D with the end goal being to 3D print or publish the 3D models that I create.

Material Workshop 1

These are some unfinished clay scultpures made by a third year in craft and design: ceramics. This is thread that is made from wool from the craft and design: textiles program. These samples are oxide clay. This describes the use of metal oxides in pottery to achieve different kinds of colours and textures to make pieces more interesting.

Material Workshop 2

This is an image of plastic bottles, although I'm 3D printing I would like to use plastic textures in the future since I like the smooth texture it has and how it reflects light This is an image of glass panes, although I'm 3D printing I would like to use a glass texture since I love clear textures, the way that it reflects light, and the feel of the texture overall This is an image of aluminum foil, although I'm 3D printing I would like to use this texture because it's unique, I like the way it feels, and I like the way it looks

Project 1

Final Project 1 Design

Physical Published 3D Printed Model 1

This is my first model, it is based off of the character Chiikawa from the manga series "Chiikawa".

I originally did not want this print to be clear but I didn't have a choice since most printers were out of order or were being used. I actually do like the clear filament quite a bit, I think it looks neat. While I was sanding the print down I broke one of its legs off so I used one of my failed models and glued that leg on. <div class='container'><iframe class='responsive-iframe' src='https://hudak.phoenix.sheridanc.on.ca/P1Stuff/Index.html'></iframe></div>

Physical Published 3D Printed Model 2

This is my second model, it is based off of the character Hachiware from the manga series "Chiikawa".

I also used clear filament for this print since it was all that was available at the time. Originally, the ears were very spiky since I wasn't sure how to round the ears in Cinema 4D but I was able to sand the ears down to give them a more round shape after it was done printing.<div class='container'><iframe class='responsive-iframe' src='https://hudak.phoenix.sheridanc.on.ca/P1Stuff/Index.html'></iframe></div>

Physical Published 3D Printed Model 3

This is my third model, it is based off of the character Usagi from the manga series "Chiikawa".

I was able to use a printer that had white filament for this model. I was happy since the face on this one was a little bit more detailed so it is easier to see when it is white. This model is definitely my favourite and took the least amount of sanding and refinements. <div class='container'><iframe class='responsive-iframe' src='https://hudak.phoenix.sheridanc.on.ca/P1Stuff/Index.html'></iframe></div>
